Hon. Doug Downey, MPP is the Attorney General of Ontario, and the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for Barrie - Springwater - Oro-Medonte. As Minister, Doug is focused on addressing operational issues within the justice system in order to simplify the court process for all Ontarians. Doug stands for a fair and equitable court system that allows for all Ontarians to receive fair representation and access to the justice system in a timely manner.
Beth started her legal career as a student and associate in the litigation department of Fasken Campbell Godfrey. She was called to the bar in 1994.
Beth is currently Senior Counsel at the Ministry of the Attorney General Civil Law Division, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care Branch. Beth has a broad-based health law litigation practice and has expertise in the areas of human rights, forensic and civil mental health, OHIP eligibility, Coroner’s inquests, and long-term care home compliance. Beth has a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School in alternative dispute resolution.
Teresa Donnelly was elected as Treasurer by the Law Society’s governing body (Convocation) on June 26, 2020. The Treasurer is the top-elected official of the Law Society, which regulates Ontario’s lawyers and paralegals in the public interest. She is the fifth woman Treasurer in the 223 year history of the Law Society.
Treasurer Donnelly was elected as a bencher in 2015 and 2019. She has served as Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee, Chair of the Human Rights Monitoring Group (Equity) and Chair of the Program Review Task Force.

Dawn Marchand is President and CEO of CBIA/Lawyers Financial. Dawn has been with the organization for just over 4 years and, before taking the helm last December, she was VP Marketing, Product & Client Experience. Dawn has worked in a number of marketing and general management roles in the financial services industry for over 25 years. When not working, you will find Dawn on the golf course, which she often refers to as ‘a nice walk, ruined’.
Ray Leclair joined Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company (LawPRO) in June of 2008 in the role of Vice President, TitlePLUS, and as of May, 2012 became Vice President, Public Affairs, responsible for government relations efforts at LawPRO.
Formerly General Counsel for the Kanata Research Park Corporation, a development company and major commercial landlord in Ottawa, Ray has practised in both major national law firms and as a sole practitioner, and was a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa Law School and Cité Collégiale instructing the French language portion of the real estate law course. He also served for 15 years as the Ottawa senior instructor for the French and English Real Estate Sections of the Bar Admission Course and member of the Law Society of Upper Canada’s Solicitor Advisory Group, Licensing Process.
Daniel E. Pinnington was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of LAWPRO in 2018. From 2012 to 2018, he served as Vice-President, Claims Prevention and Stakeholder Relations, overseeing LAWPRO's claims prevention and outreach initiatives.
Dan joined LAWPRO in 2001 as Director, practicePRO and was the driving force behind the practicePRO program - LAWPRO’s innovative and internationally recognized claims prevention initiative. He used his unique combination of practice experience and technology expertise to provide lawyers with tools and resources to assist them in avoiding malpractice claims and succeeding in the practice of law.
Before joining LAWPRO, Dan practised for eight years in the Litigation Department of a Niagara-area law firm. Dan was called to the bar in 1993, having graduated with a combined LL.B./J.D. from the University of Windsor and Detroit Mercy College of Law.

Karen Korr works with law firms and bar associations on communications strategy, content and copy. She is the former Director of Communications for the San Diego County Bar Association, and has worked in the legal community locally, regionally, and nationally for the past two decades.
Ron Marcus joined the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) team as Director of Marketing and Outreach in May 2019. He is an experienced brand strategist, marketing director, copywriter, content marketer, and creative director, with extensive agency- and client-side experience. He's worked in many industries, including technology, financial services, construction, and nonprofits.
Ron has helped many organizations improve their results by optimizing their brand positioning, growing their brand awareness, elevating their total customer experience, and boosting their marketing program effectiveness.
In addition, Ron is an accomplished presenter and facilitator, audio/video producer, musician, and martial artist. When he’s not working, Ron plays in bands, teaches karate, and volunteers.
He is a Southern California native and has called San Diego home since 1985. He lives with his wife Galina and their two cats, Sam and Toby.
Heather Folker is the Director of Communications and Membership for the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. After escaping the dot-com industry, Heather dedicated her professional career to working with the Bar Associations, where she has been for 20 years. In her current role she manages a team of creatives, writers, editors and business development professionals, as well as being the key person for information disseminating from both Associations.
Diana Miles, BA, LLB, CDir, joined the Law Society of Ontario in 2001 as the Executive Director of Professional Development and Competence. She has since held numerous positions in the organization in addition to the competence portfolio, including Executive Director of Organizational Strategy, of Communications and of Professional Regulation. Diana was appointed Acting CEO in September 2017 and CEO in March 2018.
Throughout her career at the Law Society, Diana has provided proactive and effective policy-oriented leadership to the Board while overseeing significant operational portfolios. Her responsibilities have included strategic and operational planning, financial management, governance assessment, board education, creation of defensible and valid licensure systems, provision of resources and supports for legal practitioners, and the development of progressive regulation, risk management and quality assurance for lawyer and paralegal licensees and their legal practices.
Rio Peterson is the Affinity Partnerships Manager at Clio. She joined Clio in 2017. As the Affinity Partnerships Manager, Rio works to build and foster flourishing relationships with legal associations across the United States and Canada.
In addition to her talent for building partnerships, Rio is passionate about educating lawyers on the importance of using data to understand legal trends, build better practices, and drive the legal industry forward.
